New ICSS DCS & ESD System — Feiran Tanks

Installation of a new ICSS (DCS and ESD) system for the Feiran tank farm in South Sinai, carried out during a scheduled shutdown of 10 live process tanks between February 2024 and May 2025. The client was Petrobel, with Enppi as main contractor.

Civil works covered excavation and backfill, foundations and concrete casting for the new equipment.

Mechanical works included pipe fabrication from 2" to 42" (cutting, bending, bevelling, fit-up and welding), carbon-steel butt welding by SMAW in 5G and 6G positions, demolition and erection of flanged pipework, erection of ESD valves from 4" to 42", hot tapping of live lines from 4" to 12", cold cutting, and fabrication and erection of walkways, ESD valve steel structures and pipe supports.

Quality and finishing works included welding inspection with NDT (RT, PT and MT), hydrostatic testing, sandblasting and painting.
